BODY CLIPPING

Our body clipping service removes that heavy winter coat to help your horse stay cooler, dry faster after workouts, and remain comfortable throughout the season. We take our time to provide a neat, polished clip while keeping your horse’s comfort and well-being our top priority.

A clipped coat allows sweat and moisture to evaporate more quickly, helping horses dry faster after workouts, baths, or conditioning sessions.

clipping types

The High Trace Clip removes hair from the neck, chest, belly, and higher along the sides of the body, leaving the back and upper quarters covered for warmth. It’s a great choice for horses in moderate to regular work, helping them stay cooler during exercise and dry faster afterward while still providing some natural protection from the elements.

The Bib Clip removes hair from the front of the neck and chest, where horses tend to sweat the most. It’s a great option for horses in light work, helping them cool down and dry more quickly while still leaving plenty of their natural winter coat for warmth.

The Low Trace Clip removes hair from the underside of the neck, chest, belly, and lower sides—areas where your horse tends to sweat most during work. It’s a great choice for horses in light to moderate exercise, helping them cool down and dry faster while leaving plenty of their natural coat for warmth and protection.

The Irish Clip removes hair from the underside of the neck, chest, and belly, typically following a diagonal line from behind the ears toward the belly. It’s ideal for horses in light to moderate work, helping sweaty areas cool and dry faster while leaving plenty of natural coat for warmth.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes! All horse must be freshly bathed and completely dry prior to the clipper arriving or this could result in a dirty-horse fee. Dirt, mud, and moisture can make clipping more difficult, affect the final finish, and dull the clipper blades faster.

Appointment times vary depending on the type of clip, the horse’s coat, and how well the horse stands.

Please let us know prior to the appointment if your horse is nervous, has never been clipped before, or has difficulty standing for the clippers. If sedation is needed, the owner is responsible for arranging that with their veterinarian.

Please have your horse clean, completely dry, and safely secured in a suitable grooming area. Make sure there is adequate space to safely work around your horse and access to electricity.
