For Marybeth Hewatt, horses have never been just a hobby. They have been a constant throughout her life—a source of joy, challenge, connection, and some of her most treasured memories.
Marybeth began riding at just five years old, starting where so many young riders do: cross rails and local horse shows. At twelve, she got her first horse, an Arabian, and what was already a childhood passion quickly became a lifelong love.
Born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and raised in East Cobb County, Georgia, Marybeth eventually moved with her family to a horse farm in Alpharetta. She grew up immersed in the equestrian world, competing locally in the Hunter-Jumper ring before going on to show her own horses throughout the Arabian circuit in Show Hack, Hunter Pleasure, Hunt Seat Equitation, and Country English Pleasure.
Then life took her in a different—and equally meaningful—direction.
Marybeth stepped away from riding for many years to focus on raising her boys and being a mom. But horses have a way of waiting for us. When “the baby” left for college, it didn’t take long for Marybeth to find her way back to the barn.
Today, with her two Hunter-Jumper horses they compete at both local and USEF-rated shows throughout the Southeast. And while she loves showing, ribbons have never been the most important part.
Her horses’ well-being comes first. Always.
Marybeth believes that before we can ask our horses to perform their best, we have a responsibility to help them feel their best. They are athletes, partners, teachers, and, for so many of us, part of the family. They give us everything they have—and Marybeth believes they deserve that same level of care in return.
That philosophy is what ultimately led to In Stride Equine Wellness.
While researching therapies and wellness options for her own horses, Marybeth began searching for the very best ways to support their comfort, recovery, mobility, and overall well-being. Along the way, she recognized a need for convenient, thoughtful, high-quality equine wellness services delivered by someone who understands the horse—and understands the horse owner, too.
So she created what she had been looking for herself.
In Stride Equine Wellness was founded from one horse owner’s desire to do everything possible for the horses who give us so much.
As Founder & Wellness Partner, Marybeth brings the same level of care and attention to every horse she works with that she expects for her own. Her goal is simple: to be a trusted part of your horse’s wellness team, supporting them whether they are preparing for the show ring, recovering from injury, or simply deserving of a little extra care.
Because at the end of the day, it isn’t only about how they perform.
It’s about how they feel.
And for Marybeth, that will always come first.
